APA Overview page - Packets

The Overview page displays only those ACTIVE packets you have access to, based on the Dept IDs in your security profile. The layout compiles data from multiple sources to generate the page, which can take several seconds to load. After the initial load, Advance will remember the list of packets. If you make changes to packets, they will NOT appear on the Overview page until you click “Refresh Overview”. That tells Advance to build a new list of packets.

The Overview page displays the total number of packets on the page and the number currently displayed, and allows you to:

  • Access the Leave Request page
  • Sort by each column
  • Filter the packet list to display only those packets that meet the entered criteria
    • Enter text in this box; use a space between words to pinpoint the packets you want to see. For example
      • Hamilton Promo Ladder will show my (Hamilton) Ladder rank Promotion packets
      • Lab med vol will show the Volunteer Clinical packets in Laboratory Medicine
      • Lab med clin will show Lab Medicine’s Volunteer Clinical, HS Clinical, and Clin X packets
    • The text you enter in this box will remain there until you change it
  • Download the displayed packets to Excel
  • Copy the displayed packets to the clipboard so you can paste them into Excel or Word
  • Generate the Packet Review Report
  • Drill down to individual packets
    • Name drills down to the Profile page
    • Action drills down to the Packet page
    • Location drills down to the Manage Packet page
    • References drills down to the Manage References page

Create packets

There are two avenues for creating academic review packets. The first, through the Search page, assumes the person does not already have a packet in process; the benefit of using this process is that most of the packet data is pre-populated. The second avenue is to go directly to the Packet page where you can define and save the academic review packet.

  1. Click the Search hyperlink in the upper right to get to the Search page. Use this page to find the person or people for whom you want to create packets. From the Search Results, click on the hyperlinked action in the Action column. You will be redirected to the Packet page where most of the required information will be pre-populated; modify the intromation as necessary and save the packet.
  2. To create any action, click the Candidate Mgmt tab and use the search feature there to find the person for whom you want to create a packet. Using this method, you will need to fill in all the information required to define a packet.
