Candidate Mgmt - Profile

The Candidate’s Profile page contains information from the campus payroll system (PPS) as well as other information that you may enter depending upon your role. 

Left panel

  • Employee Status, Date of Hire, and Scale are extracted from PPS; if the data for these fields is incorrect, corrections must be made within PPS
  • Multiple Joint Departments may be specified by clicking on the "+" icon; these fields do NOT drive any of the functionality within Advance, but may help a Generalist understand which Joint Chairs to include in the academic review process. Joint Appointments that display in the Academic Appointments section of this page come from WOS entries in PPS.
  • Year at Rank and Year at Step can be modified by changing the Date Assigned Rank and Date Assigned Step fields
  • Academic, Senate, and Management Appointment Dates, Next Stewardship Date, 8 Year Review Date, 8 Year Review Comment, Appraisal Date, Search Number, and Waiver Expiration Date are fields that can only be modified by the Specialists within the office of Vice Provost for Academic Affairs

Right panels

  • Academic Appointments, Next Action, Compensation
    • Use the information in this panel to validate the current condition of the academic.
      • Appointment data comes from PPS
      • Next action is calculated by Advance based on current PPS data and the last action recorded in Advance
      • Compensation information is derived from the UC Salary scale tables, based appointment and scale data maintained in PPS
  • Academic Leave
    • The academic Leave Credit Balance is displayed; click on the balance to view a PDF statement that shows how the credits were accrued. An adjustment to the Leave Credit Balance can be made by entering the incremental adjustment (whole numbers only) in the box, entering a reason for the adjustment, and clicking the Save button. The Leave Credit Balance will be automatically incremented each quarter (up to a maximum of 40 credits) and will be adjusted downward after the faculty member files a final report for an approved leave.
  • Academic Leave History
    • This section displays the history of Sabbatical or Professional Development leaves after September 2012. Only Leaves that have been "Closed" by an Academic Specialist in the HR Specialty Center (VPAA) will appear in this section; a Leave Request is "Closed" after the Final Report has been approved, and after the Leave Credits used for the leave have been verified and adjusted (if necessary).
