Candidate Mgmt - Packet - Manage References
Follow this process to request references for the candidate (assumes you have already added the names/titles/contact info for referees on the Reference List page):
- Preview the email by clicking the icon to the left of the reference line. The wording appropriate to the action proposed in the packet is included in the email as well as the Chair signature entered on the Department Management page.
- To add a document to the email (e.g., a department-required explanation, etc.), use the Attach PDF Document feature at the bottom of the page. You may have to open this section by clicking "Show PDF Attachments".
- To receive a copy of email sent to the referees, click the Copy Emails to Academic Personnel Analyst checkbox.
- To email referees, select the check box in the Email column and click the Email Referee(s) button.
- To send a reminder email, select the check box in the Reminder Email column for those referees you want to remind, and then click the Email Reminder(s) button.
- To view submitted references, click on the date in the Received column.
Additional features:
- Change the References Due date to enable referees to submit after the due date indicated on the inital email; changing the due date here also changes the date on the Packet page.
- When a referee has submitted a reference letter outside of Advance, click the flag icon on that referee's record. A BLUE flag indicates that the reference was received outside of Advance.
- Remember to attach a redacted and an unredacted version of the reference letter to the Attachments page.
