Candidate Mgmt - Packet - Manage Packet
The Manage Packet page is composed of six panels.
Route completed packet to Candidate for review
- A policy requirement of the Academic Review process (APM-220-80-e) is to allow the candidate to see the Departmental Recommendation embeded in the Chair Letter, prior to the Dean review.
- When the Generalist determines that the packet is ready to route to the next Academic Review Level (Dean's Office) - the Chair Letter has been certified, any Joint Chair certification has been obtained, and the packet elements are all within the packet - she clicks the Notify Candidate button. This sends an email to the candidate and triggers a seven-day period during which the candidate can review the packet, including the Chair letter and redacted references.
- The packet will automatically route to the Speciality Center (pre-Dean review) after seven calendar days.
Route this packet
- This panel is used by the Academic Specialist to route the packet forward (CAP or VPAA) or backward (Department) in conjuction with noting why the packet is routed backward
- The Generalist can route the packet before the seven day period ends, if coordinated with the candidate (candidate must agree to a shorter review period)
Packet Routing History lists of each time the packet is routed from one Acadeic Review Level to another
Decision for this packet is used to Withdraw a packet; originally used to record the final decision, but that is now done on the Decision page
Comments section is used to record comments that can only be viewed by other users at the same level (Department, Dean, CAP, VPAA). Be careful when adding comments; they are discoverable in the event of a legal challenge to the Academic Review decision.
